2013 Bark For Life
I want to thank everyone who donated to Team Basset (and to me). With your generous support we raised $1,210!

Go Team Basset! Sue with Henry, and Lisa with Gracie, Tank & Bones. Not to forget Mary the picture taker.[/caption]
I was also honored with being the top fundraiser!

Gracie & I on the stage accepting our award for top fundraiser. I'm the one in the white.[/caption]
I wasn't able to get any photos of the walk because I also was invited to carry the survivor's banner with three other awesome women! I'm sure there will be photos to come that I can share.
The walk wasn't the only thing happening. There were vendors for shopping, the MN School of Business Vet Tech students were on hand doing free nail trims, and lots of fun!

Dog Wants a Kitty
I don't care who you are...THIS is the funniest video. Dog wants a kitty!!
Rerun
Interestingly enough, the last time I was able to post it was a snow day! And, yet again, here I am posting on a snow day! Those of you that may have grown up going to one of the schools in the Anoka-Hennipen School District you will realize that 2 snow days in one season must mean hell has frozen over!
As usual, I woke up a bit early to check out the weather reports. Looking at the seemingly 3 feet of snow on the top of my van (OK, so maybe it was more like 9 inches) I just knew school was going to be cancelled. But I wasn't seeing the district listed so I pouted my way into the bathroom to shower and get ready for work. Soon enough the van is warming up (hoping to melt the snow off rather than scraping windows) and I am grabbing my stuff to head out...the phone rings and I get the news that, indeed, the school district had closed and we had a snow day. Good news! Of course they could have decided that before I'd downed 3 cups of coffee. No crawling back into bed for me!
Even though I'm a bit irritated with the whole snow at the end of April thing it was kind of pretty!

Flying High
Anna had the chance to ride in a Chinook Helicopter. Looks like she had fun by the grin on her face!

And yet another random photo of Anna. I just love finding these of her. She doesn't seem like half a world away.

Update on Anna
Anna deployed to Afghanistan just before Christmas.
She does pay for internet in her room (splitting the price with her roommate) so we can communicate via Facebook texting and emails.
If you have the opportunity to go onto Facebook you can watch the TF BRawler OEF XIII page (her Batallion) for updates and pictures. Otherwise keep an eye on the blog and I will post things as I see them.
These are some random photos:

They also had a very nice Christmas celebration. Anna was spotted in a few of the photos:

If anyone would like to drop Anna a letter or a care package please feel free email me at mnhoundage@gmail.com and I will give you her address. Give2TheTroops offers a list of commonly asked for items by the troops. Click here to check it out for ideas!
As always HOOAH!
